Rentmarketer

RentMarketer.com is an online rental distribution platform. Launched in September 2005, the site allows property managers, real estate investors and real estate agents to post their rental properties to many different rental and classified sites at once. Some of the sites RentMarketer distributes to are Google Base, Move.com, Hotpads, AOL and others.

Marktplaats.nl is an classified advertising site based in the Netherlands. It was acquired by eBay on November 10, 2004.

Humphrey Cobbold

Humphrey Cobbold was former chairman of Fish4, one of the largest online classified advertising site networks in the United Kingdom, as well as the Director of Strategic Development and Executive Committee member of Trinity Mirror.

Prior to joining Fish4 and Trinity Mirror, he was a partner and the co-head of the UK media practice for the global management consulting firm McKinsey & Company. He graduated from the University of Cambridge and holds an MBA from INSEAD.

IPPAR

The Instituto Português do Património Arquitectónico (IPPAR) is the public institute tasked with the conservation, preservation, and inventory of the Portuguese architectural heritage. This includes buildings and sites of historical, architectural, cientific or artistic value. The institute keep a registry of all the classified sites and issues legally-binding opinions regarding any works on them.

International Classified Media Association

International Classified Media Association is a democratic, international non profit-making association of high quality publications and websites carrying classified advertising which is dedicated to promoting excellence, co-operation and networking, market leadership, and innovation and information-exchange at every level amongst its growing membership.

With 800 print and online members throughout the world, the organisations runs two large events each year as well as several regional seminars, sales labs and revenue generating opportunities to keep its members up to date with Industry changes as well as providing them with networking opportunities within the group.

The association started in 1986 and these days includes all areas of Classified media from photo shoppers, online classified sites, free sheets, niche publications… any kind of legal entity publishing at least one periodical whose main purpose is primarily and predominantly to provide classified advertising. Suppliers to the classified industry can also play their part as Associate members.

International Classified Media Association run two major General Meetings each year for all it's members, suppliers and exhibitors. During the course of 4 days, members network together and attend leading industry speakers, seminars, sharing best practices sessions and generally have an opportunity to stay on top of all the changes taking place in this industry.

Recently launched benefits for members include a dedicated "Sharing Best Practice" session at General Meetings which allows members to benchmark themselves directly with their competition in a relaxed and open environment which results in many stimulating and animated discussions, and a "Webring" which is a link exchange project between thousands of member websites to add value for users and improve the SEO of those classified destinations.

Classified advertising

Classified advertising is a form of advertising which is particularly common in newspapers, online and other periodicals, e.g. free ads papers or Pennysavers. Classified advertising differs from standard advertising or business models in that it allows private individuals (not simply companies or corporate entities) to solicit sales for products and services.
